Creston
is at the heart of your perfect golf holiday. Just minutes south
is the Creston Golf Club,
and 18-hole, par-72 course with views of the Creston Valley, Kootenay
River, Purcell and Selkirk Mountains. You may find yourself golfing
under the perusal of osprey, blue heron, deer and the occasional
elk. The mild climate in the Creston Valley means a golf season
starting in mid-March with great weather lasting until the end
of October. A true championship course, the Creston Golf Club
was the home of the 1998 British Columbia Junior and Juvenile
Championships and will host the BC Senior Championship in August
of 2002.
Within two hours of Creston you can enjoy another
seventeen golf courses. Designed by the Norman Woods, the Kokanee
Springs Golf Resort in Crawford Bay was issued a 4-Star rating
from Golf Digest in 1998. North toward Cranbrook is the new St.
Eugene Mission Golf Resort, the Kimberley and Cranbrook Golf Clubs,
and the Trickle Creek Golf Resort. Enjoy the scenery
and
golf at Granite Pointe (Nelson), Castlegar, Balfour, Christina
Lake or the Rossland-Trail Country Club to the west. If you can
extend your holiday, there's even more golfing experiences awaiting
you at the numerous 9-hole facilities in the area. Salmo, Riondel,
Champion Lakes, Rossland, Kaslo-Mirror Lake, Bonners Ferry, and
Priest Lake offer a wonderful variety of shorter courses. For
something a little different or for the beginner, try the par
3 course at Canyon Heights, near Creston.
